Denali Replacement Elementary School

UNIT COMPANY was selected to demolish an existing school structure built in 1950 and to construct approximately 64,000/SF replacement Elementary school on the same site.  The new school will consist of 26 classrooms, intensive needs areas, gymnasium, performing stage, food service kitchen, administration offices, computer room and a library.

The school was designated to fit the needs of a truly urban setting.  It is a combination of 1 and 2 story construction with a rigid steel frame designed to meet current International Building Code Standards.  The exterior skin is a collection of brick, tile and glass block.  The site is compact and constrained on all four sides by the downtown environment.  The playground is compact yet functional.
